My main event of the day

Started by: tomplum (12498)

Well it might be trivial but, to me it was a once in a millennium occasion.
I paid for a wee, I'd been into Wigan for an eye test and was on my way home and waiting for a bus and felt the need for a wee , To my knowledge the only public toilets that are free is in the new arcade and, I'm brassin' So I went in the bus station toilets and paid the 20p ,
GUTTED,,,,

Spend a penny !!!!

Remember that "I have to spend a penny" and woman bemoaned the fact that they had to 'spend a penny every time' but men only 'spent that penny' when having a number two

So since decimalisation (53yrs) the price of 'spending a penny' has gone up 20 fold

I know it's ridyclooless

Same as putting air in your tyres, that used to be free, then it cost 50p for 3 minutes of puff, that was the garage on Warrington Road almost opposite Stephens Way, then one day I put me 50p in the machine and it wouldn't work, so I went into the shop part and told them, to which they said "it's a pound now"

In Grasmere they charge 50p and you have to pay by card!

I was recently in Hamburg and had to pay 1 euro for a wee! They must be making a fortune on public toilets. You can also imagine the queue to get through the turnstiles as cards are being rejected and people constantly trying other cards. Nightmare when you're bursting!

Who cleans the toilets? Wages have risen, cleaning materials etc etc have risen since it was a p to pee.

First mate. Yes, materials have risen and wages have slightly risen. However, many continental bogs are self cleaning. Also, n another issue I've seen Travelodge cutting down on cleaning your room and making your bed unless you put in a request. When I was leaving the last Travelodge in London recently I noticed that robot vacuum cleaners were employed in the rooms. At Village hotels (now owned my an American firm i believe) you have to check yourself in and create your own key card. My point is as prices for services continue to rise staff are progressively let go. Not looking forward to AI completely taking over... and it's not far off!

We have a key to use for locked disabled toilets (a Radar key) but because people have abused the system by buying a key on line a few places have pulled out of the scheme and replaced the locks with a yale type lock. I don't know where you would get a key for the lock or how many different locks/keys there are.Our key we had to go to the council with proof we needed a key (proof of disability.) I bought a shorter length key on line ,one which I have with my car/door keys. Some times would forget to get the standard length key out of the car now I know i always have a key with me

I remember a day in a local park last summer. 40p to use a toilet. A big queue of women at the toilets and a big queue of men next to some big bushes at the side!

Go eco friendly, water the bushes , grass and trees
you're giving nature a hand,
and being friendly to the Bees
Its not recommended in urban places
Where eyes on on your everywhere
find a quiet spot in hidden spaces
and flop it out to air,
